Wildfox Inspired - Totally Clueless

"Do you prefer 'fashion victim' or 'ensembly challenged'?"

When I saw this morning that the new Wildfox collection "We're the Kids in America" was inspired by the 1995 film Clueless, I just had to write about it. While I was only 4 years-old when Clueless came out, it was endlessly repeated on television and to this day it is widely considered to be a cult classic. At the time, the style in Clueless really pushed the envelope but now in a time when almost anything goes… the 90s are coming back.
I've put together a few bits and pieces below which remind me of the 'girls who want it all' outlook encompassed in Clueless. The items aren't all exclusively Wildfox as 1) that would make for some very expensive outfits and 2) it's all about attitude and the right mix of cute, edgy and making outfits your own.

1. Wildfox Couture long sleeve top - I love Wildfox's cute catchphrases and even just the feeling of their jumpers (so soft and lovely!), and they are easy pieces to dress up or down for day or nightwear. Despite not being part of the collection, I think “Famous” perfectly summarizes Clueless mentality of wanting it all! - Seasons

2. Wildfox Couture heart jewellery – Sweet and totally reminds me of the relentless matchmaking, boyfriend finding and best friends. - Edge of Urge

3. Zatchels Cracked Leather 11.5 Satchel – The style in Clueless is all about breaking the mould and being a bit different! I love the pattern on this bag that definitely stands out and makes a statement. - The Iconic

4. Lipsy belt dress – A modern take on the red slip Cher wears in the film. Feminine and flattering! – Lipsy

5. Black Tartan Skirt – Need I say more? - Fashion Union

6. Platform high heels – Its all about the Mary Jane’s and the Platforms in Clueless. Mix it up with these bad boys! – Nastygal

7. Thigh high hosiery - are all the rage in the film, if they are wearing a skirt they are wearing at least knee high socks to complement them. - Go Jane

8. Jeffrey Campbell Platform high heels – I love the coral colouring, the bows and the studs! So many trends all at once. - Nastygal

You can check out the collection (here) and the lookbook (here). Be sure to let me know what you think.

I might do one of these posts again soon, a blast to the past can be a good thing!

What inspires your style?
